Offshore wind energy has emerged as a key component of global efforts to expand renewable energy generation. However, designing offshore wind farms requires solving complex optimization problems, particularly in the placement of turbines and the routing of electrical cables. Traditional approaches often treat layout and cable routing separately, leading to suboptimal solutions that either compromise energy output or inflate infrastructure costs. This work addresses this gap by proposing integrated multi-objective optimization models that co-evolve turbine layout and cable routing within a unified search process. Specifically, a sweep-based cable routing heuristic is embedded directly into the evaluation cycle of three evolutionary algorithms (NSGA-II, SPEA2, and MOEA/D), ensuring that candidate solutions remain feasible and cost-aware throughout the search. Experiments conducted on standardized offshore benchmark instances demonstrate that the integrated NSGA-II consistently outperforms its sequential counterpart. These results reinforce the potential of integrated strategies for improving the energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness of offshore wind farm designs.
